Hi and Welcome to Tuff Duck Music-
My name is Chuck Freeman and I am the head of our label. I would like to tell you a little about myself, the label and what we do here.
I was born and raised on the road with my Navy father and the family, but my teen years were spent in Memphis, TN, home of the blues, Elvis, and great BBQ. Learned to play guitar at an early age and have been enamored of music ever since. I have had some awesome opportunities in my life, ups and downs, and the experience of meeting any gifted musicians. Hopefully, these can be passed on to our artists, clients, friends and fellow travelers on the Music Highway.
We started in 2013 with the production of an album called "Running From Love", by my band, The Chuck Freeman Band. "Mexico" a Trop Rock flavored entry debuted at #8 on Radio A1A's, Weekly Trop 40, and is still being played on many Trop Rock stations. Running From Love, First Time, and Fireworks are also receiving play on Cruisin' Radio and other stations.
Our second album, "Get It! Get It!", featured seven original tunes vocalized by Mickey Utley, also one of the writers.
"You, Me and Tennessee" was licensed to Keep Tennessee Beautiful, the promotional arm of TDOT, to promote the beauty of Tennessee and also used as a PSA to focus on that theme. The PSA was debuted in Feb of 2016 at Bass Pro Shops in Memphis, TN and is still receiving air play and promotion.
From that same album, the title track "Get It! Get It!"(video) was aired on Phil McLaughlin's "Keep It Country" and aired in Europe.
Also from that album, "Don't Forget the Whiskey" rose to #1 The Trop Rock 40, Radio A1A and has been used in a test marketing format for possible inclusion in ads for a new liquor distributor coming to the Keys in early 2018.
With help from our engineering and mastering partner, Highland House Productions, we released "Steel Drums and Rum" currently aired literally from coast to coast and internationally on internet stations. It is the first release off "Umbrella Drinks" featuring TDM Artist Linda Duck.
We have currently finished a project for Memphis Artist "Jesse" which will soon be released which was recorded at Sun Studios.
We are also proud to be in production with TRMA Horizon Award Nominee, Steve Hopper, and his latest album reccorded in the Shoals at The Nutt House, grammy award winning engineer, Jimmy Nutt, entitled "Star of The Tiki Bar" scheduled for release in early November, 2017.
Let us help you make your music better-"It's What We Do."-Chuck Freeman
